Minor corrections still delay graduation.
A thesis is read slowly, by specialists, with a pen. After years of drafting, you no longer see the page the way an examiner will. Typos, shifting terminology and mismatched references survive every self-check, then reappear as a corrections list.
- Examiner reports
- Mechanical errors become required corrections, each one a condition of the award.
- Format review
- Graduate schools return dissertations that fail the format check before anyone reads the research.
- Drift across chapters
- Chapters drafted years apart disagree on spelling, tense, abbreviations and citation style.

- Proofreading: For a final draft your supervisor has approved. The last check before submission.
- Editing: For a complete draft that reads heavily: long sentences, uneven tone, repeated phrasing. Includes a full proofread.
- Editing + formatting: For final submission against a style manual or university template. Everything in Editing, plus references and layout.
Standard return for one editor working carefully. Shorter documents come back sooner, and your quote fixes the exact date and time.
A human editor reads every line.
Software flags patterns. A person understands what you mean.
Who we are. ProofReaderz is an independent editorial house for researchers, students and authors. Our editors are people with doctorates and native-level English. They correct language, apply style rules and format documents to the standard their readers expect.
Every editor passes a credentials check, a timed editing test and matching to a field or genre before taking a file. Senior editors spot-check finished work.
-
No AI tools, at any stage
Every correction is typed, checked and explained by a person.
-
One editor reads every line
The same editor works through the whole document, so every judgement stays consistent.
-
Your words stay yours
Changes are tracked, questions go in the margin, and nothing is added to your content.
-
Never fed to a chatbot
Your file is not uploaded to any AI service or used to train software.
What clients say
Fixed the flow without changing my core research.
My supervisor kept telling me that my thesis chapters felt disconnected. The editor here helped clean up the transitions and restructured a few awkward paragraphs. It reads so much better now!
Dr. Marcus Vance
Thesis
I had read my dissertation at least ten times and thought it was ready, but they still found several typos, inconsistent references, and punctuation errors. Really glad I used their service before hitting submit!
Daniel K.
Dissertation
Worth every single penny.
Editing a 15,000-word thesis is no joke. They improved the academic tone, fixed my messy sentence structures, and made sure the formatting matched university guidelines perfectly.

Frequently asked questions
Anything else? Ask in the same WhatsApp chat as your quote.
What happens if you miss my deadline?
You get a full refund. The delivery date and time are confirmed in WhatsApp when you accept the quote. If the edited file arrives after that, you pay nothing. The full conditions are on our guarantee page.
What if I find an error you missed?
Report it within 30 days of delivery and we correct it free, then check the rest of the document for the same mistake. That is our 30-Day Missed-Error Guarantee. It covers objective errors within the service you booked, not matters of style.
How much does thesis proofreading cost?
Prices start from £25 per 1,000 words. The exact price depends on word count, service level and deadline. Send the file, or just those three details, on WhatsApp. A fixed price comes back within 10 minutes and does not change after you accept it.
Do you use AI tools?
No. No AI or generative software is used at any stage. A human editor makes and checks every change, and your file is never uploaded to a chatbot or used to train software.
Why not just use grammar software or a chatbot?
Software flags patterns. It cannot tell whether a term is right for your discipline, whether a reference matches its citation, or whether chapter 2 and chapter 6 use the same spelling. A chatbot goes further and replaces your sentences with its own, so the text is no longer entirely yours. A human editor checks all of that, changes only what is wrong, and explains every change.
Is using a proofreader allowed by my university?
Most universities permit proofreading for language, consistency and formatting, and many publish a policy that sets its limits. Our work stays inside those limits: we correct and query, and never add content. If your institution has specific rules, send them with the file and the editor will follow them.
How long does a full thesis take?
Careful proofreading runs at about 4,000 words per working day, so a 10,000-word chapter takes about 3 working days and a full 80,000-word thesis about 4 weeks. Editing takes roughly twice as long. One editor works on the whole thesis, so book early; the quote fixes the exact date and the On-Time-or-Free Guarantee covers it.
How is my thesis kept confidential?
Your thesis is seen only by your assigned editor, never used for any other purpose and deleted when the 30-day guarantee period ends, or sooner if you ask.
Send the thesis. Lock your deadline.
