Human editors, no AI
A person reads every line.
See exactly what your editor changes
Your file comes back in tracked changes, with every deletion struck through and every addition marked. The numbered notes here explain the slip each change fixes.
Your findings and argument are left untouched. You accept or reject every change.
Chapter 4, Results
Twenty-four semi structured semi-structured1 interviews were conducted. The interview data shows show2 that participants who’s whose3 principle principal4 concern was workload reported lower retention.
- 1Consistency: hyphenated, as in chapter 3.
- 2Agreement: “data” takes a plural verb here.
- 3Possessive: “whose”, not “who’s”.
- 4Word choice: “principal” means main; a “principle” is a rule.

Is this allowed?
We work within UK university proofreading policies. We correct language and formatting, never your content, and every change is a suggestion you accept or reject.
Check your own university’s policy; we’re happy to work to it. If you’re asked to declare proofreading, your tracked-changes file shows exactly what changed.

Send your word count and deadline. Within 10 minutes you get a fixed price and delivery date. Send the file when you’re ready, pay half, and your editor starts.
Your editor works in tracked changes
A human editor goes through every line at the level you chose. Your content, arguments and data stay as you made them.
Review, pay the rest, submit
Accept or reject each change, pay the second half, and submit on time.
You’ve read it ten times. That’s the problem.
By the tenth reading, your brain fills in what you meant to say. A marker reads it fresh, slowly, and sees exactly what is on the page.
Errors you can’t see any more
“Form” where you meant “from”, a missing “not”, “principle” for “principal”. Each one survives your tenth read, and spellcheck passes them all.
References and formatting that cost marks
One chapter cites in Harvard, the next slips into APA, and two tables are both numbered 3.1. A marker spots it on the first skim, and it reads as carelessness.
Feedback that costs a week
When your supervisor’s comments are about commas and citations, a whole feedback round is spent on the surface. Your argument waits another week.
An editor reading it for the first time catches what you no longer can.
Also for research papers and literature reviews
Same human editors, prices and guarantees.
Research papers
Research papers for your course or project, proofread or edited before you submit.
Literature reviews
A standalone literature review or the review chapter of your thesis, with consistent citations and clear flow.
Questions before you send it
How much does it cost, and how do I pay?
Proofreading is £15, editing £30 and editing + formatting £35 per 1,000 words at the standard turnaround. Priority takes about half the time for 50% more, when an editor is free. The minimum order is £20. You pay half when you accept the quote and the other half after delivery, once you have the edited file. Pay by bank transfer or any major credit or debit card. Payment goes to SOLUTIONBIRDIE LTD, the company behind ProofReaderz.
What if you miss my deadline?
Your quote fixes a delivery date and time. If we deliver after it, you get a full refund under our On-Time-or-Free Guarantee. Standard turnaround per 10,000 words is 3 working days for proofreading, 5 for editing and 7 for editing + formatting, and shorter documents come back sooner.
What if you miss an error?
Tell us within 30 days. If it’s an objective language error in text we edited, within the level you ordered, we correct it free and check the rest of your document for the same mistake. Style preferences aren’t errors, and text changed after delivery isn’t covered.
Do you use AI tools?
No. A human editor reads and corrects every line, and no AI tools are used at any stage.
Is proofreading allowed by my university?
Policies differ, so check your own university’s rules first. We work within UK university proofreading policies: we correct language and formatting, never your content, and every change is a tracked suggestion you accept or reject. If your university limits what a proofreader may do, tell us and we’ll work to it. See our academic integrity terms.
Is my work kept confidential?
Yes. Your file is seen only by your assigned editor, never used for any other purpose, and deleted when the 30-day guarantee period ends, or sooner if you ask.
Which level do I need?
Proofreading if your argument is settled and you need the page error-free. Editing if sentences feel clunky or English is your second language. Editing + formatting if your university has strict layout rules or your references are inconsistent. Not sure? Send your file and we’ll suggest a level with your quote.
Which file types do you accept?
Microsoft Word works best, because tracked changes show every correction. Google Docs works too. For LaTeX or PDF, mention it when you ask for your quote.
